Terms of Service

Last updated 27 August 2026

Overview

SM3D Labs sells engineering-grade 3D printing filament to customers in Canada. These terms cover the sm3dlabs.com storefront and every order placed through it.

Placing an order means you accept these terms. The version published at the time you order is the version that governs that order.

SM3D Labs is a brand operated by Mass3D Inc. Mass3D Inc. is the seller named on your receipt and invoice. We ship from Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be the age of majority where you live to order from this site. If you are younger than that, a parent or guardian has to place the order.

You agree that the name, email address, shipping address, and payment details you give us are accurate and yours to use.

If you create an account, keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account. Email seed@mass3d.com if you think someone else has access to it, and do not share, sell, or transfer an account to anyone.

We can refuse to open an account, and suspend or close one, where there is fraud, abuse, or a breach of these terms.

Technical data

Technical data on this site, including printing parameters, mechanical properties, and application guidance, comes from the manufacturer, is published free of charge, and is used at your own risk. The test standards are named on each product page.

The figures are typical values, not specification limits. Do not use them to set specification limits, do not rely on them alone as a basis of design, and do not treat them as a substitute for testing the material in your own application.

A printed part will not reach these numbers. Most figures are measured on injection-moulded specimens; where a figure is marked (X-Y) it was measured in the printed plane, and strength across layers is lower. A figure marked annealed needs the annealing step to apply, and a continuous-use temperature is a thermal-endurance rating, not a load rating. Layer adhesion, fibre orientation, drying, printer, profile, and geometry all change the outcome. Published values describe the material, not your part.

Products

Filament is sold on 1 kg spools. Colours on screen are approximate. Monitors differ and spool photographs are lit for detail, so what arrives may not match the image exactly.

We can change a specification, discontinue a material, or limit the quantity on any order. Stock is read live at checkout, but a spool can still sell out between the page loading and the order completing.

Fibre-reinforced filament is abrasive. It needs a hardened nozzle, and some materials need an enclosure. Requirements are listed on each product page. Wear or damage to your equipment from running these materials is your responsibility.

Orders

An order placed on this site is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we accept it, which we do by taking payment and shipping the goods.

We can decline or cancel an order before it ships, and if we do we refund anything already paid, in full. Reasons include stock we cannot supply, a listing or pricing error, an address we cannot ship to, or a payment we cannot verify.

Prices, descriptions, and stock counts can be wrong. Where an error is obvious and material we are not bound by it. We will contact you and either confirm the corrected price or cancel and refund.

Prices and discounts

All prices are in Canadian dollars. There is no second currency, at checkout or anywhere else on the site.

Listed prices exclude shipping and tax. Both are calculated at checkout from your shipping address and shown in full before you pay.

Volume discounts apply automatically, by total spool count across the order:

  • 6 or more spools: 5% off
  • 12 or more spools: 10% off

One coupon per order. A coupon replaces the volume discount instead of stacking on top of it, and checkout applies whichever of the two is worth more to you.

Payment

Card payments are handled by Stripe Checkout. You are taken to Stripe to pay and returned here afterwards. SM3D Labs and Mass3D Inc. never see or store your card number. When card payment is not offered at checkout, Interac e-transfer is the only method available.

For Interac e-transfer, the order is placed unpaid and the total is shown to you on the spot. Send that amount to payments@mass3d.com and put the order reference in the transfer message. The reference is the word MASS3D, a hyphen, and your order number. Transfers are matched and marked paid by hand.

An unpaid order does not ship. Please send an Interac transfer within 48 hours; after that, the order may expire and its reserved stock may be released.

Sales tax

Sales tax is calculated at checkout on your shipping address, itemized, and shown before you pay. The tax charged on an order is the tax shown on its invoice.

Shipping

We ship within Canada only. We do not ship to the United States or anywhere else, and we cannot make an exception on request.

Rates, dispatch, tracking, and carrier delays are set out in the shipping policy.

Risk passes to you when the carrier takes the parcel. We still handle damage and loss claims with the carrier, so tell us if a parcel arrives damaged or does not arrive at all.

Returns

Filament is sold as a final sale. We do not accept change-of-mind returns, opened or unopened. Material that is faulty, is not what the listing said, or is missing from the box is the exception, and where we owe you a remedy it is ours to choose, decided case by case.

Reporting windows, cancellations, refunds, and what counts as a fault are set out in the returns policy.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law.

Warranty

We warrant that the filament is what the listing says it is: the stated polymer, the stated reinforcement, the stated diameter, on a 1 kg spool.

We do not warrant printed results. Print quality depends on your printer, slicer profile, drying, nozzle, and part geometry, none of which we control.

Beyond that warranty, and as far as the law allows, goods are sold as they are, and implied warranties and conditions including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are excluded. Some consumer protection legislation does not permit that exclusion. Where it applies, it takes precedence.

Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any order is capped at the amount you paid for that order.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. That includes failed prints, wasted machine time, missed deadlines, lost profit, and damage to equipment or to parts made with the material.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Site content and use

The site, its text, photographs, and product data belong to Mass3D Inc. or are used with permission. Do not copy, republish, or scrape them for another store or to train a model without written permission.

Do not use the site to break the law, interfere with how it runs, or place orders you do not intend to pay for. We can refuse service.

Third-party links and documents

Product pages link to technical datasheets and Safety Data Sheets published by the manufacturer. Those documents are the manufacturer's, not ours. We link them because they are the authoritative source, and we do not control them: they can be changed, moved, or withdrawn without notice to us.

If a manufacturer document disagrees with a figure on this site, treat the manufacturer document as correct and tell us, so we can correct the page.

We are not responsible for other sites we link to, or for anything you buy, download, or rely on there.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. Changes take effect when they are published on this page. The version in effect when you place an order governs that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.

Nothing here removes a right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

These terms, together with the shipping, returns, and privacy policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and Mass3D Inc. for an order placed through SM3D Labs, and they replace any earlier discussion or correspondence about it.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
